I’m a robotics engineer, currently working at the 3D printing company Formlabs. This page documents a few of my personal engineering projects with a focus on chronicling the design and research process.

Many of these projects are from my last year in college.. as a working engineer I direct most of my time and creative energies towards work projects, but I'm hoping to add some more current personal projects soon :)

Designing manufacturable Containment for Embedded Electronics

A cross between product design and mechanical engineering. This was a collaborative project that gave me experience in the Design For Manufacture process and demonstrates my proficiency with both CAD and iterative design.

Robot Navigation and Localization with ROS

Using python scripting and leveraging ROS's many compatible SLAM packages to create an accessible user interface for exploring and planning routes in new environments with turtlebots.

Geared Zoetrope:
3D Printing Hypocycloidal Gears and Organic Forms

This project began as a fun CAD project to animate organic patterns with a motorized spinning base but evolved to include a foray into the math of reduction gearing and experimentation with Autodesk Fusion 360’s application programming interface, culminating in 3D printing a hypocycloidal gear box.

MOBILE ROBOTICS: A collection of smaller coding projects

A set of python scripted projects centered around the programming of simulated robots to execute tasks and to explore and interact with their environment. These projects were guided by the curriculum of the Mobile Robotics course at Swarthmore College which focused on robot perception, kinematics, navigation and control, and optimization.

Lagrangian trebuchet: modeling a 4dof dynamic system with matlab

This project applies Lagrangian Mechanics, an elegant formulation of classical mechanics, to the medieval machinery of the floating-arm trebuchet. The code plots maximum projectile ranges for different trebuchet dimensions to determine the optimal configuration.
